The IIM conducting the CAT (Common Admission Test) has not yet officially announced the CAT syllabus 2021. Before starting the preparation of exam, you must analyse the syllabus of CAT exam. The difficulty level of exam is moderate to difficult. There is no fixed syllabus of exam. However, following the pattern of last few years, the syllabus of CAT consists of three sections:
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Ability

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) CAT Syllabus
This section test the ability of student to understand and comprehend the written passages. In CAT 2020, 26 questions were asked from this section. This section consists of following topics:
- Reading Comprehension Passage-Based Questions
- Para-Jumbles
- Para-Summary
- Sentence Completion & Correction
- Odd Sentences
- Inferences
- Synonyms Antonyms
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
This section tests the ability of student to understand, process and analyse the data quickly and deduces the facts from given piece of information. In CAT 2020, 24 questions were asked from this section. The major topics under this section are:

- Blood Relation
- Calendars, Cubes and Clocks

Quantitative Ability Syllabus
This section tests the ability of student to comprehend and solve problems. It tests numerical ability, mathematical skills and problem-solving skills. In CAT 2020, 26 questions were asked from this section. The major topics in this sections are:
