- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) would shortly come out with guidelines on refinance of existing projects as demanded by the industry.
- SBI launched two indexes
- The bank has created two indices — the SBI Monthly Composite Index and the SBI Yearly Composite Index.
- The index would also take into account other indicators of economic activities such as consumer spending, mining, interest rates, inflation and exchange rates on a monthly basis.
- Richard Rahul Verma to be U.S. ambassador to India

- Mr. Verma (46) is the first Indian-American to be the U.S. ambassador to India.
- Mr. Verma served as assistant secretary of state for legislative affairs at the State Department in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2011.
- Human Rights Day observed on December 10th.
- Advanced Pinaka Mark-II rocket successfully test-fired
- The advanced version Mark-II rocket, with a range of more than 60-km and capable of acting as a force-multiplier, was developed to supplement artillery guns.
- Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe sacks Vice President Mujuru
- Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe has fired his deputy Joice Mujuru along with eight ministers aligned with her.
- India’s GDP likely to grow 5-6% in 2015: Moody’s
- Indian economy is expected to pick up pace in 2015 and grow in the range of 5-6%, helped by strong domestic demand, rating agency Moody’s said.
- “India will have stronger gross domestic product (GDP) growth in 2015, which we forecast at 5-6%, up from around 5% in 2014,” Moody’s said in a report titled—2015 Outlook-Global Credit Conditions.
- Railway Minister Launches Wi-Fi Broadband Services at New Delhi Railway Station
- The Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu inaugurated the Wi-Fi Broadband Services at New Delhi Railway Station.
- The Wi-Fi project on Indian Railways is being executed by RailTel, a Public Sector Undertaking of the Ministry of Railways.
- The facility at New Delhi station which is free for first 30 minutes for railway users.
- The RailWire powered Wi-Fi will give maximum speed of 1 mbps.
- For usage beyond 30 minutes, the user may purchase scratch cards, which will be made available at the 24X7 Wi-Fi Help Desks in the concourse on Paharganj and Ajmeri gate side of station adjoining platform no. 1 and 16 respectively.
- These cards are priced at Rs.25 for 30 minutes and Rs.35 for 1 Hour and are valid through 24 hours.
