- India Cements transfers CSK to new subsidiary
- BCCI President-in-exile N Srinivasan led India Cements’ board on Wednesday approved transfer of IPL team CSK to a wholly-owned subsidiary Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd.
- The company transferred the IPL franchise rights to its wholly-owned subsidiary Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd.
- Apple: Tech giant becomes first company in history worth over $700 BILLION
- Apple has become the first company to reach a market value of $700 billion.
- It was able to hit this milestone after its shares rose 1.9 per cent and closing at $122.02, which in turn increased company’s market value to $710 billion.
- Earlier in January 2015, Apple Inc had recorded highest quarterly profit of 18 billion US dollar in corporate history worldwide after the company sold 74.5 million iPhones in quarter ending December 2014.

- CM Virbhadra Singh lays the foundation stone of the third phase of police headquarters complex in Shimla.
- He said the difficult terrain of Himachal inhibited citizens of far-flung areas to report their problems at police stations and this facility would help in easing this problem.
- DGP Sanjay Kumar said the project was a Mission Mode Project under the National e-governance plan which had been visualised with key objectives of reaching out to the public in quicker and transparent manner along with enhancing the working capabilities of the police.
- Mamata launches Micro Business Credit Card to boost MSMEs
- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today launched a Micro Business Credit Card, which will give a boost to MSME sector in the state.
- With the launch of the card, the small and medium entrepreneurs would be able to avail of cash credit or loan up to Rs 5 lakh for their business activities, even without collateral security.
- The chief minister thanked the authorities of the State Bank of India for extending support to the state government in this venture.
- SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launches from Cape Canaveral
- An unmanned SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying a space weather satellite has successfully launched from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on its third attempt.
- The mission will monitor changes in solar wind, to warn forecasters of changes which affect satellites, power grids and communication systems.
- ICC World Cup 2015 launched with quirky opening ceremony
- Children mingled with cricketing greats in “backyard” matches and Maori warriors shared the stage with morris dancers as the Cricket World Cup opened om Thursday with a vibrant and quirky ceremony in Christchurch.
- International Cricket Council chief executive David Richardson unveiled the Cricket World Cup trophy, saying it was a symbol of the ICC’s values of excellence, integrity and inclusion.
