  1. ICICI Bank to sell its Russian subsidiary
    • ICICI Bank today has decided to sell its profit making Russian subsidiary ICICI Bank Eurasia Limited Liability Company (IBEL) to Sovcombank.
  2. PSU bank ATMs will be able to print in Hindi
    • The government has instructed public sector banks (PSBs) to install those ATM machines which can produce receipts in both Hindi and English languages.
    • However, no time frame has been prescribed for installation of such ATM machines.
  3. Government disinvested 5% stake in state-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL)
    • The first disinvestment of 5% stake in state-run Steel Authority of India (SAIL) got off to a flying start, raising Rs 1,715 crore.
  4. Government committee recommends setting up of a postal bank
    • The committee, headed by former Cabinet secretary TSR Subramanian, recommended that Postal bank should be a set up as a commercial bank offering full spectrum of financial and banking services.
  5. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked banks to make all possible efforts to enable customers to get onboard the mobile banking platform.
