  1. CRY Launches ‘Project Unlearn‘ on Children’s Day in India. It is nationwide campaign which aims to get children in labour across India back to school.
  2. Radio Kashmir Jammu has won the prestigious `Gandhian Philosophy and Public Service Broadcasting’ award for its programme `Jeevan Rekha’.
  3. Tata Group chairman emeritus Ratan Tata has invested in online furniture company Urban Ladder.
  4. Union government has launched Maulana Azad National Skills Academy (MANAS).
  5. Public broadcaster Doordarshan is relaunching its national channel as “ Desh ka Apna channel” with a slew of new programming.
  6. The fourth India-China joint training exercise Hand-in-Hand 2014, which aims to acquaint both armies with each other’s operating procedures in the backdrop of counter terrorism environment organised in Pune.
  7. Government re-launched Kisan Vikas Patra Scheme
    • It was discontinued in 2011.
    • The KVP will be available to the investors in the denomination of 1000, 5000, 10000 and 50000 rupees with no upper ceiling on investment.
    • The investment made in the certificate will double in 100 months.
  8. State-owned Coal India Ltd will move its headquarters from heart of Kolkata to its outskirts, some 25 km away at Rajarhat, West Bengal
  9. Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar has been selected for Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
    • The award comprises a citation, trophy and cheque for Rs 25 lakhs.
    • Vengsarkar is the 19th recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
  10. Indian American Neha Gupta, 18 has been awarded with the prestigious International Children’s Peace Prize 2014.
