- All India Resort Development Association (AIRDA) is an independent and non-profit advisory body set up by the vacation ownership industry.
- Ramesh Ramanathan is the managing director of Sterling Holiday Resorts. He is the founder member of AIRDA.
- Centre government notified rules for plying of e-rickshaw
- The government notified the Central Motor Vehicles (Sixteenth Amendment) Rules, 2014, which paves the way for plying of “special purpose battery operated vehicles”.
- The e-rickshaw will be allowed to carry four passengers excluding drive and 40 kg luggage.
- The net power of its motor is not more than 2000 W and the maximum speed of the vehicle is not more than 25 kilometer per hour.
- Every driving license issued or renewed by a licensing authority to drive an e-rickshaw or e-cart shall be valid for a period of not more than three years from the date of issue, as the case may be, or till the validity of the driving licence, whichever is earlier.
- Nobel Peace prize awared jointly to Kailash Satyarthi and Malala Yousafzai
- Pakistan’s Malala Yousafzai is the youngest to be awarded the globally prestigious annual prize.
- Satyarthi is an Indian child rights activist born in Vidisha, MP.

- India’s first mental policy launched
- Health minister Harsh Vardhan launched India’s first-ever National Mental Health Policy to provide universal psychiatric care to the population 20 per cent of which are likely to be suffering some form of mental illness by 2020.
