- Agni-V, India’s 1st ICBM, fired successfully from canister
- India’s first intercontinental ballistic missile Agni V was test fired successfully.
- The 5,000-km Agni-V was successfully tested for the first time in its canister-launch version, which will give the armed forces the requisite operational flexibility to swiftly transport and fire the ballistic missile from anywhere they want.

- Reliance Industries Limited teams up with SBI for payments bank licence
- Looking to foray into banking business, Reliance Industries has teamed up with state-run behemoth SBI to apply for a payments bank licence.
- RIL and SBI put in a joint application to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to set up a payment bank that can offer services such as remittances and deposits but not loans.
- SBI will hold 30 per cent in the joint venture. RIL will be the promoter and hold the balance 70 per cent.
- Aditya Birla, Future apply for payments bank licenses
- Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd (ABRL.NS) and retailer Future Group were among the first big names to apply for licenses to run so-called payments banks.
- Today was the deadline for the application.
- HIV treatment to be linked to Aadhaar
- Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) Treatment for HIV/AIDS infection will now be linked to Aadhaar.
- Even those coming for HIV infection testing will have to produce their Aadhaar cards.
- This is to avoid duplication of patients going to several ART Centres for testing.
