Republic Day celebrated with gaiety across the country

India’s military prowess and multi-hued images of the country’s rich cultural diversity and achievements in various fields were on display at the majestic Rajpath on Tuesday during 67th Republic Day parade which was graced by French President Francois Hollande as the chief guest.
India celebrates the day its constitution was adopted – January 26, 1950 – as Republic Day
French soldiers also took part in the parade. It is thought to be the first time a foreign army contingent has participated in India’s celebrations.
The parade included marching troops, military bands, tanks, and other hardware.

Malayalam actress Kalpana passes away in Hyderabad

Noted Malayalam film actress Kalpana Ranjani, known as Kalpana, died in Hyderabad on Monday (January 25) morning due to heart attack. She was 51.
Kalpana, who had acted in 300-odd films in South Indian languages, had won the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in a Malayalam film in 2012.
Among her other Malayalam hits are “Ennum Eppuzhum”, “Karnavar”, “Dolfins”, “Bangalore Days” and “Spirit”. “Kakki Sattai”, “Idhaya Thiruda”, “Sathi Leelavathi” and “Chinna Veedu” are among her Tamil films.

Government launches online payment facility for LPG cylinders

Union Government has launched Sahaj Scheme for online booking of LPG cylinders.
Consumers can book LPG cylinders online through the unified web portal www.mylpg.in which is available in 13 languages.
People can apply online for new LPG connection and they need not visit to the LPG distributors for it.
This facility is available around the clock and with online or offline payment options. LPG cylinders will be delivered at home even in their absence.
Union government has decided to target of adding 10 crore new LPG connections by December 2018 to present 16.5 crore connections.

India, France ink 14 pacts

In all, 14 agreements were signed covering civil nuclear energy, education, renewable energy, space and Information Technology between the two countries during French President Francois Hollande’s ongoing visit to India.
Apart from defence cooperation, the talks between the two leaders primarily focused on ways to boost counter-terrorism cooperation in the aftermath of attack in Paris in November last and Pathankot terror strikes earlier this month.

मलयालम अभिनेत्री कल्पना हैदराबाद में निधन

मलयालम की प्रसिद्ध अभिनेत्री कल्पना का सोमवार को हैदराबाद के एक होटल में निधन हो गया।
कल्पना (50) ने 300 से अधिक फिल्मों में काम किया है और जिस समय उन्हें दिल का दौरा पड़ा, वह हैदराबाद में एक निजी कार्यक्रम के लिए थीं।
कल्पना ‘तानीचल्ला नजान’ फिल्म में अपने बेहतरीन अभिनय के लिए सर्वषश्रेष्ठ सहायक अभिनेत्री का राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जीत चुकी है। प्रसिद्ध अत्रिनेत्रियां उर्वशी और कलारंजनी उनकी बहनें हैं।

रसौई गैस सिलेंडर बुक करते समय अब ऑनलाइन भुगतान की सुविधा

रसोई गैस या एलपीजी सिलेंंडर की बुकिंग के वक्त ही अब उपभोक्ता उसके लिए ऑनलाइन भुगतान कर सकेंगे। पेट्रोलियम मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने इस सुविधा की शुरूआत की।
इससे पहले रसोई गैस ऑनलाइन बुक कराने की सुविधा तेल विपणन कंपनियों इंडियन ऑयल, हिंदुस्तान पेट्रोलियम और भारत पेट्रोलियम के लिए ही थी और उपभोक्ताओं को दुकान पर या सिलिंडर की आपूर्ति होने पर नगद भुगतान करना पड़ता था।
उपभोक्ताओं को 13 भाषाओं में उपलब्ध है, जो एकीकृत वेब पोर्टल www.mylpg.in के माध्यम से ऑनलाइन एलपीजी सिलेंडर बुक कर सकते हैं।

भारत-फ्रांस के बीच राफेल समेत 14 समझौते

भारत और फ्रांस ने सोमवार को 36 फ्रांसिसी लड़ाकू विमान ‘राफेल’ की ब्रिकी के संबंध में सहमति पत्र पर हस्ताक्षर किये लेकिन कीमत को लेकर मतभेद अरबों डॉलर के इस सौदे को निष्कर्ष तक पहुंचाने की राह में आ गये।
दोनों देशों के बीच हुए 14 समझौतों में राफेल का समझौता शामिल है
इनमें आतंकवाद निरोधी, सुरक्षा एवं असैन्य परमाणु उर्जा में सहयोग को प्रमुखता दी गई है
