  1. Shahrukh Khan named as Ambassador of DHFL

    • Housing finance company, DHFL announced Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan as its Brand Ambassador.
    • Shah Rukh Khan said, “It is an honour to be associated with DHFL. I truly believe that owning a home is the first step towards ensuring a secure and confident future for every family. I personally believe that DHFL’s mission of enabling home ownership amongst every Indian is as relevant today, as it was 30 years ago when DHFL began operations.   2. Bilal Tanweer wins Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize
    • Lahore-based author Bilal Tanweer’s maiden novel The Scatter Here is Too Great has bagged the 2014 Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize.
    • The award carries a cash component of Rs. 2 lakh.
    • Born and raised in Karachi, Mr. Tanweer has published fiction, poetry and translation in various international journals.
    • He was selected as a ‘Granta New Voice’ in 2011.
  3. World Observes International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
    • The United Nations’ (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was observed yesterday i.e. on 25th November.
    •  It has been observed on November 25 each year since 2000.
    • The United Nations’ (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is an occasion for governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations to raise public awareness of violence against women.
  4. Haryana reduces retirement age from 60 to 58 years
    • Reversing the decision of the previous government, the Haryana government said that retirement age would be reduced from 60 to 58 years.
  5. National milk day celebrated on November 26th
    • Amul celebrated National Milk Day on November 26 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the famous milk revolutionist, Dr Verghese Kurien.
    • India is the highest milk producer in the world.
    • Dr. Kurien is also called as Father of White Revolution in India

  8. Sebi directs foreign investors to comply with P-Note norms
    • Sebi today directed foreign investors to ensure compliance with all necessary norms before issuing P-notes with immediate effect.
    • The  existing ODI positions will be allowed to continue till expiry if they are not in compliance with the relevant provisions of Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) Regulations.
