    • Men’s squash team lead by Saurav Ghosal bagged gold medal.
    • India clinched gold medal in compound team event in archery followed by Young archer Abhishek Verma’s silver in Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field.
    • India has secured five more bronze medals in 17th Asian Games in Tennis.
    • In Wrestling Vinesh Phogat and Geetika Jakhar bagged a bronze medal each in 48kg and 63kg.
    • The Indian squash players wrapped up a historic performance in the Asian Games, clinching an unprecedented men’s team gold after the women’s side settled for its first ever silver on Saturday.
    • Shooter Chain Singh bagged bronze in 50m rifle 3 position’s Men Final.
    • India stood at 11th position at the end of day 7 with 3-Gold, 5-Silver and 20-Bronze medals.

    • In Assam, Oil India investing Rs 1,200 crore to revamp the pump stations of pipelines for carrying crude to refineries.
  4. SEBI appoints new chief vigilance officer.
    • Capital market regulator Sebi has appointed Gyan Bhushan as its chief vigilance officer replacing R K Padmanabhan.
  5. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa sentenced to four years.
    • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was sentenced to four years in jail in an 18-year-old corruption case and fined Rs 100 crore by special court.
    • She was taken to Bangalore jail.
  6. Volcano erupts in Japan 250 trapped 11 hurt.
    • A volcano erupted in central Japanon Saturday, catching mountain climbers by surprise and trapping more than 250 people. At least 11 people were injured, including seven who were unconscious.
