- Former Chief Justice of India P. Sathasivam appointed as Governor of Kerala by President Pranab Mukherjee.
- This is the first time that former Chief Justice of India becomes Governor.
- Rating agency Moody said high fiscal deficit and sticky inflation may limit chances of India’s rating upgrade.
- Country has ‘Baa3’ rating with stable outlook.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off new training for TCS trainee graduates in Japan.
- The first batch of 48 graduates will head towards India to undergo training at various TCS locations for six-eight weeks.
- Apart from exposure to new technologies, the graduates will learn about quality, processes and business skills as well.
- They will also undergo on-the-job training for six months in various projects.
- Tata Consultancy Services has reappointed Natarajan Chandrasekaran as CEO and Managing director of the company for five year term effective from October 6, 2014.
- Chinese Counsul-General Liu Youfa announced that Chine will set up two Industrial Parks in India, one each in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
- In Maharashtra, park will be set up in Pune on area of 5 sq. km with focus on automobile sector.
- The park in Gujarat will be near Ahmedabad in area of about 10 sq. km where the focus will be on Power sector.
- Oriental bank of Commerce on Wednesday slashed the interest rate price on home loan above Rs. 75 lakh by 0.5 per cent point from 10.75 to 10.25 per cent.
- RBI on Wednesday relaxed the norms on external commercial borrowing to allow lender to extend loans in Indian currency to local businesses.
