- Justice Handyala Lakshminarayanaswamy Dattu on Friday appointed next Chief Justice of India.
- HL Dattu will replace incumbent Justice R M Lodha for tenure of 14 months.
- Justice R M Lodha will retire on September 27.
- HL Dattu will be 42nd Chief Justice of India.
