History – Some Important terms

Manuscripts: Manuscripts are ancient books, written either on dried palm leaves or the thick bark of birch tree or a paper. These are generally found in libraries.

Inscriptions: Writing which is engraved either on a stone surface or on metal or brick is called inscription. These are generally found on rocks, pillars, stone tablets, buildings and metal plates.

Archeology: Archeology is the study of remains of ancient past. These remains consists of monuments or buildings, coins, pottery, tools made of stone and metals, figures, images and various other things which people living many centuries ago had used in their daily life.
